Wall Street Journalist Insider Claims Nintendo Will Release Two Switch Hardware Revisions in 2019
There have been a lot of rumours surrounding Nintendo and the potential of hardware revisions for the Switch. Just recently, Wall Street Journalist, Takashi Mochizuki, claims that there will be two new Switch hardware revisions – a “pro” version and a “successor to the Nintendo 3DS” – releasing as early as Summer 2019.
The more enhanced version is said to be target at more “avid gamers”, with the console said to more equipped to handle more demanding games. However, those who have apparently had hands on experience with the system say that it isn’t as powerful as the PS4 Pro and the Xbox One X.
The weaker Switch is supposed to be aimed at a more “casual-friendly” audience, being a cheaper alternative and the replacement for the Nintendo 3DS. It’s hard to say just what the sacrifices would be, whether it’s a dip in hardware specs, non-detachable Joy-Cons, a portable-only Switch or all of the above.
