Kickstarter Project of the Week: Rubi: The Wayward Mira
For this week’s Switch Kickstarter Project of the Week, we will be looking at Team Rubi’s Rubi: The Wayward Mira. The game is slated to release approximately in December 2020 on PC with a Nintendo Switch port Stretch Goal. Here’s the overview:
Rubi: The Wayward Mira is a 2D action-platformer game based in a lush pixel world where science and magic come together. Featuring ability-based progression, Rubi is a Metroidvania at its core, but features nonlinear gameplay with multiple playstyles and endings.
Guide Rubi, a Mira stranded on the alien world of Earth, in her quest to awaken the bridge between worlds, open a portal back to her homeworld of Casimir, and save her people from extinction.
Rubi: The Wayward Mira seems a clever take on post-apocalyptic science fiction. Set on a dying planet full of history of magic and its misuse, Rubi: The Wayward Mira is a game that has thought long and hard about its lore and is one to fully sink your teeth into. The pixel graphic art style is crisp and vibrant, with a wide variety of colour palettes and atmospheres that seem to keep the variety flowing. Be sure to follow this one closely!
Rubi: The Wayward Mira requires US$12,000 and is currently sitting at UD$11,787.55 after 361 backers with 25 days remaining. They are SO close, however a Nintendo Switch port requires US$15,000, so if you’d like to support the development of this game and some hardworking developers in their time of need, click the link below to visit the Kickstarter page.
