Blasphemous: Quirce, Returned By The Flames Boss Guide
Blasphemous is a tough game, so it’s not surprising that the boss battles are tough too. Quirce, Returned By The Flames is one of the later boss fights, so let’s get into it…
For equipment, we’d recommend anything that boosts flame resistance, defence and speed (specifically dash cooldown).
Quirce has a wide range of attacks, so it’s all about being on your toes and ready for anything. First, you’ll have the boomerang attack where Quirce will hang from the ceiling, either on the left or right side, and throw his sword around the room. Your best bet is to jump over it as soon as you can because once you do, you can get two or three shots in jumping up and hacking away at your enemy. However you have to be careful as sometimes, Quirce will throw his sword in a zigzag motion, which your best bet is to dash underneath when the moment is right.
Quirce will also cling to one wall and throw his sword across the room. When this happens, crouch down.
When he comes down, Quirce will be without his sword and charge attack you. You can tell he’s about to do this as he’ll build up a little bit of flames and steam around him before doing so. If there’s enough room and time, you can dash attack through him but if he’s against a wall, your best off parrying the attack at just the right time.
Another move that happens when the sword is in the wall is that the boss will appear above you and slam down, creating a flame tornado where he lands. There will be more flames depending on how much health he has left. Simply be vigilant and dodge out of the way as much as you can.

When he goes to retrieve the sword from the wall, it’s guaranteed that a flurry of flame tornadoes will appear from that side. These will have a wider reach the more his health has been depleted. Simply when you see Quirce grab his sword, make for the other side of the room as quickly as you can.
When Quirce has his sword back, he’ll like to dash at you. You can dodge over this attack, but your best opportunity is to parry and strike. You may be pushed back a bit, so even a ranged attack is good in this situation.
