Blasphemous: Esdras, of the Anointed One Boss Guide
Blasphemous is a tough game, so it’s not surprising that the boss battles are tough too. Esdras, of the Anointed Legion, is one of the mid-tier boss fights, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. Let’s get into it…
First thing’s first, you’ll want to equip items that resist lightning damage, increase defence and increase dashing distance.
Esdras will swing his hammer at you down and then upward, which can be easily parried. Afterwhich, you can perform a full combo attack on, but be careful not to stay too close for too long as he’ll slam his hammer down and send out a shock wave.
When Esdras swing sideways, he’ll build up some electrical power. You can parry this attack, but you’ll be pushed back a fair way. Best with this attack is to dodge through the attack and come out on the other side.
This attack will be followed by a circular spin attack that’ll send lightning bolts down from one side to the other. Your best option is to make for the far side where Esdras is going to end up. Jump up to avoid being hit as shown below and them wail on him.
When half of his health has been dwindled down, Esdras spin on the spot and slices of electric energy will be sent towards you. These can be easily avoided by crouching down. You can also crouch underneath the attack if he comes towards, allowing you to hit him once he’s passed.

When he swings his hammer and some light particles appear, be sure to dodge out of its way as quickly as possible to avoid being struck.
When the winged angel-like creature appears, try to ignore him and simply go for taking out Esdras. This is a great time to use your ranged attacks to whittle the remainder of his health down from a distance.
As long as you keep moving and stay alert of both enemies’ actions, you’ll be able to finish the battle before the angel has much of an imact.
