According to EuroGamer, Nintendo is bowing to fan demand and porting the Wii classic, Super Mario Galaxy, over to their latest handheld platform, the Switch.

This comes with news of an upcoming release of a deluxe edition of Super Mario 3D World, as well as a brand new Paper Mario entry. It’s only fitting that this Italian plumber would get some love from the Japanese gaming company after the announcement of a Breath of the Wild sequel and the release of a new Animal Crossing.

NintendoEverything reported that Super Mario Galaxy won’t be the only game to be ported over to the Switch, as apparently they are aiming to take on the arduous task of bringing his entire 35-year catalog over – hopefully, that means we’ll get Super Mario Galaxy 2 on top of the first one, as supposedly they’re also porting “a couple of other 3D Mario favourites.”

The deluxe edition of Super Mario 3D World will be receiving new levels, meaning that fans of the title can indulge in more content from the game. However, ports and new editions aren’t all that is coming, as more Mario titles are apparently in development and not just a new Paper one.

There isn’t any news on when these titles can be expected to drop, and amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, which is causing major disruptions in the industry as a whole, it’s possible that internal plans have been delayed, but hopefully, an announcement will come soon to give Super Mario Galaxy, Mario 3D World, and Paper Mario fans a beacon of optimism to latch onto in these troubling times.

For now, Nintendo has Animal Crossing: New Horizons available to play, and Breath of the Wild 2 underway, so it’s safe to say that there’s a lot for fans out there to dig their teeth into for the forseeable future.
