Blasphemous is a tough game, so it’s not surprising that the boss battles are tough too. Melquiades, The Exhumed Archbishop is one of the mid-tier boss fights, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. Let’s get into it…

For items, you’ll want to equip an item that protects you from lightning damage and boosts your defence.

To attack and deal damage to Melquiades, you’ll need to take out the hands holding him up. While you can happily strike away at the hands, you can also use your ranged attack or strike multiple hands at once with a dash strike.

When he comes down, start smacking away at his head.

The hands will also come up and start banging down at you, so make for one side and dash out of their way.

When Melquiades start to jab at you with his staff, your best bet is to dodge it, but parrying also helps. Either way, you’ll be flung to one side, but either way works, just as long as you watch where you’re ending up.

If you’re looking for a good time to heal up, that would be when Melquiades sends down some bolts of energies; you can stand in the middle of them to avoid being hit, giving you a few seconds to heal up.

The stakes will get higher when you continue onwards, with Melquiades jabbing you whilst beams of energy down at you. Basically, don’t be a hero; keep focussing on avoiding oncoming projectiles and only attack the hands when there’s an opportunity.
