BOXBOY! + BOXGIRL! A Tall Tale 100% Walkthrough: World 9 (Hoppity-Hop!)
BOXBOY! + BOXGIRL! may start off pretty simple, but it gets tricky pretty quickly. So let’s get started on the A Tall Tale segment: World 9 (Hoppity-Hop!)

World 9-1
Boxes Used: 7
Standing upright, make one box right and another down. Use these to hop across the spikes and then throw into the second pit to press the blue button in.
Next, rotate clockwise and make one box right and another down. Jump down, hop to the right and place the boxes onto the red button.
For the Crown and the door, Rotate anti-clockwise to face left and make two boxes left and one down. Jump down into the pit and hop on over to grab the Crown.
Now hop to the left, up the spikes, and position the boxes so that they’re pushing in the blue button. You’ll then be able to drop down and make for the door.
World 9-2
Boxes Used: 11
Rotate clockwise, make one box up and two to the right. Jump to the right to hook onto the spikes and keep hopping to the right until you’ve covered the blue silhouette and the laser has been cut off.
Next, stand upright and make four boxes in this order: right x3, up. Throw these boxes as far right as possible to cover the red silhouette and cut off the laser.
For the Crown, rotate clockwise and half the top half of your body teetering over the edge. Then make four boxes in this order: up, right, down x2. With this, you can hop to the far right, cutting off the lasers and allowing you to drop down, collect the Crown and get to the door.
World 9-3
Boxes Used: 13
Make four boxes in this order: up x2, right x2. Jump up-right to hook onto the spikes and hop to the right until the blue silhouette is covered. Then drop down when the platform is underneath you and dismantle the boxes to have it move back.
We want to do the same thing for the second one, but here you’ll be rotating clockwise and making three boxes in this order: right x2, down.
For the Crown, stand upright over the edge and make one box right and another down. Hop along the spikes to the blue silhouette and drop down when the platform is underneath you. Dismantle them for the platform to take you up and up the top, make one box up and three to the right. Jump to the right so that the boxes hook onto the spikes and hop as far right as you can to collect the Crown. Here, you’ll be able to press Y to pull yourself up and walk to the door.
World 9-4
Boxes Used: 11
Standing upright, make one box right and three down so that you can hop up and over the zappers, only to dismantle them once you’ve passed.
For the first Crown, rotate clockwise and make four boxes in this order: right, down x2, right. This will allow you to hop over to the right and hook the bottom-right box onto the ledge. Keep hopping to the right until you’ve collected the Crown and you’ll then be able to press Y to pull yourself through.
For the second Crown and the door, stand upright and make one box left and two down. Hop over the zappers and drop down on the other side of the pillar. Stand directly underneath the Crown and make one box right and three down in order to hoist yourself up, but remember to retract those boxes once you’re done.
World 9-5
Boxes Used: 8
Rotate clockwise and make one box right and another down. Then hop over to the springs and when they project you into the air, land on the spikes and continue onwards.
Next, stand upright and make one box up and another to the right. Jump to the right and hook onto the spring. When it springs you up, land on the spring that you still have the two boxes above you. Then with enough skill, wait for it to spring you up once more, make for the right ledge so that you hook on and pull yourself up to retrieve the Crown along the way.
For the second Crown and the door, Jump onto the springs as soon as they have just sprung up, giving you enough time to do what we need to do. Make one box left and another down, but don’t let go of the Y button. This will spring you up to the Crown and when you fall down, retract them.
Now rotate anti-clockwise and make three boxes in this order (but don’t let go): left, up, right. When you’re propelled upward, make a fourth box to the right to hook yourself into the bottom step as shown below. Now hop up and right and when you’re not in danger of the lasers anymore, dismantle the boxes and make for the door.
World 9-6
Boxes Used: 12
Rotate clockwise and make four boxes to the right. Jump to the right and hook them onto the moving platform. When the platform has hit its highest point, hop over so that the rightmost box is on the ledge and pull yourself through.
Make four boxes in this order: up x2, right x2. Jump and hook onto the platform when it’s at its leftmost point and pull yourself up when its at its rightmost point, allowing you to collect the first Crown along the way.
For the last section, stand upright and make four boxes in this order: right x3, down. Now jump as far right as possible in order for the bottom-right box to land on the floating platform when it’s at its most bottom point. Hop a box or two to the right and when the platform is at its most highest point, pull yourself through, grabbing the Crown along the way.
