Spread the love

Even though it only lasted for around six minutes, the Nintendo 3DS section of the Nintendo Direct (March 2018) contained a few big announcements.

We know that we are called SWITCHaboo, but we still have a lot of love for the Nintendo 3DS.

Note: All announcements and release dates are from the North American Direct.

WarioWare Gold

Packed full of classic and new mini-games, this collection is the ultimate edition of this lovable franchise. With over 300 mini-games, recurring characters and just some crazy fun, WarioWare Gold is a must for any WarioWare fan!

Dillon’s Dead-Heat Breakers

Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr.’s Journey

This DS classic is making its way to the Nintendo 3DS! Nintendo Seem to be on a remake frenzy as of late, and this game is a perfect fit for any RPG fan. With a new mode in Bowser Jr.’s Journey, find out what happens behind the scenes in his own journey. We also found the release date to be quite surprising, suggesting that Nintendo still plans on supporting the 3DS into 2019.

Release Date: 2019

Detective Pikachu

We all knew that this one was coming, but it’s nice to see a whole new trailer for it. With Pokemon running a muck, play as Tim and team up with an awesomely gruff Pikachu to uncover the mysteries.

Release Date: March 23rd (Now available for pre-purchase)

Luigi’s Mansion

The GameCube classic is coming to the Nintendo 3DS! We always love to see some love for Luigi, and what better love is there than his first breakout hit? This whole new version has the map on the bottom screen, making it easier to navigate through the mansion, as well as boss rush mode.

Release Date: Later this year

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker

Whilst this game was announced for the Switch, we love to the game get some more love on the Nintendo 3DS. This version also features a New Donk City level, and hopefully we’ll get to see more Super Mario Odyssey references closer to release.

Release Date: July 13th

That was it for the Nintendo 3DS in this Nintendo Direct (March 2018), but we firmly believe in quality over quantity. There are some truly amazing releases coming out for the 3DS, and we are very excited to get our hands on many of these titles.
